WOTB Question

119k DestinyAviation  7.5 years ago

So, I recently bought back one of my favorite tanks in the game, the famous Tiger I. As I was playing, I noticed that I could reach speeds of 44 km/h, which for a German heavy is great. As I thought about it more, I started to wonder how fast the Tiger I could go if the 700 HP engine (the best on the Tiger I) was replaced with the Maybach 1,200 HP engine (the one on the E-100, E-50M, etc.). I know the power to weight ratios for both engines, and I'm mitigating the engine weight for simplicity. Is there any calculation that I could use to find the top speed (in km/h)?

.

Here's what I've got so far:
-Tiger I weight: 57.53 Short Tons (US)
-700 HP P/W: 12.16 (P/W=Power to Weight)
-1,200 HP P/W: 20.85 (using Tiger I weight)
-Current too speed (with 700 HP): 44 km/h

-(DON'T KNOW) Top speed with 1,200 HP engine

Agreed. I'm just SO happy that people are using the T6 Dracula again! @MrVaultech

Heh, everything that's been done to Blitz has been rough. Those two tanks they added for that New year event. One was horribly under powered, the other was horribly over powered

Agreed. I've also got mixed feelings about the complaint system in place now. It's good that you can report people for misconduct and whatnot, but am honor system? We're not samurai, WG! @MrVaultech

Japan has been pretty neglected since it was added, I can say that for sure. Plus, Japan's tree is meh at best to begin with.
And lastly, WoT needs to fix their prems.

Maybe. I've been looking online for over an hour with no luck so far. @AstleyIndustries

@DestinyAviation ok, but idk how to calculate it, maybe if there is a dev build you can try it

I like the addition of more countries, but they need to add more for those countries. French heavies are cool and all, but what about the Bat Chat? Or the Type 5 heavy? @MrVaultech

I took a long 2 year break from it, coming back recently, and I'm just done completely. And I guess you could say it has.

And no, there is no speed limiter. I'm trying to find the top speed, and I don't plan on taking the RPM or transmission into account. @AstleyIndustries

I'd imagine it would. And yeah, I've been with it since (no joke) day 1. WOTB has come a long way, @MrVaultech. But I did stop for a few months last year cause I was tired of grinding. Now I've gotten back into it, and it's great.

Wow! You too? I got it about two or three days after it released. And surprisingly a Tiger P can really ding up an E 100

Nice! I've done relatively well in it myself, but I'd imagine that you're better. I also really like the VK 30.01/2M, the tier 6 that leads to the Panther. I don't know why, but I'm really good with that tank. I got my six kills in one game with it after all. @MrVaultech

If the speed is with a safety mode speed limiter, there probably wont be a speed increase
Also the engine RPM matters, if you use the same transmission

The E-100 isn't that great, though. When I started playing Blitz the day it launched (yes, back in 2014), the only reason I did the German heavies was because of the E75. I watched a Mighty Jingles video on it and wanted to have it so badly. I actually still have it in my garage, believe it or not. @MrVaultech

Heh, he definitely knew what he was doing. That tank is god like in my hands. I've taken on entire teams and nearly won in that tank.
(And yeah, I prefer the E stuff over the VK's. 40.02 A is absolute garbage)

The Tiger P is good, but I like the Tiger II and E75 better than the Krupp tanks. Still, Porsche knew what he was doing when he made the Tiger P @MrVaultech

Honestly... I have no idea how people survive in the Tiger 1. People really need to try the Tiger P some
