I find WWII fascinating. I don't know as much as I wish I did about it, so I decided to make this forum for discussion among those who just want to share knowledge among themselves.

@ChasingHorizon US had better ships. Yamato was big, but BB's didn't win the war, especially not when America can decode your comms and you sport inferior radar. That's not to say Japan didn't have some great ships and great captains, they did.
Hitler bit off more than he could chew, America bombed the crap out of almost everyone and Stalin ended up the big winner. Anything else you want to know?
Actually, if you want to learn about a really brutal and fascinating piece of WWII, read about the Winter War in Finland. Finnish pilots, flying outdated aircraft, racked up the highest kill rate in aeronautical history. And that's just the aerial part of the conflict, on the ground it was even more brutal. Ever heard of a Molotov cocktail? Finnish troops invented that name.
@DarkBlueSubaru the US did
Not the Philippines
Still, good point
@GermanAircrafts yeah boi
It is. Took a lot more skill and work back then than it does now due to technology, or the lack thereof. @ChasingHorizon
Ohhhhh the 238. Okay it was just a type. Yeahhhhh those are pretty easy to take down. @GermanAircrafts
@GermanAircrafts ikr Spitfires are overrated
I swear that BF-109s will be in Dunkirk (the film)
@DarkBlueSubaru me too, I love Japan
Despite what they did to my country
Lol, I see what you mean. A lot of resentment comes from wars. @DarkBlueSubaru
@Botfinder oh, the He178
@Botfinder dang
@AerodynamicallyConfused ikr
@Botfinder technically, the jet engine was invented by the Brit Sir Frank Whittle
The Ho229. Supposedly had stealth capabilities because of a mix of sawdust and charcoal in the wings that slightly threw off radar. @Botfinder
BV239? @GermanAircrafts
I'm more WWI than WWII, but both are very fascinating.

For WW2, what interested me most was the creativity of the nation's aircraft, those hilarious looking German experiment planes, and tanks too (talking to you, T-34)
Go watch Dunkirk, lots of realistic dogfighting with real planes. Very atmospheric.
acctually it was the british who "invented" it, they started first and did tests on jet engines first, but the germans were more efficent and better designs; and released the first proper jet first
cough Zero cough @GermanAircrafts
They are. Strangely creative. @Fjorge
I like WWII German inventions... they were always so weird XD
Yes. Especially WW2.
First, I'd like to point out that we did have her texhnology. We just never used it during WWII. Sure, the Germans were more advanced and their scientists did bring a lot of technological advancements, but they aren't the only reason we have jets. Also, I believe you're talking about the 262, but I think that was a typo. @Botfinder
Awesome! @Gemista
here is a post of mine about the end of it
