Build a little Fw 42. It's a simple canard bomber from the 30's
Had the same problem, what gets me the best builds, come up with a vague idea of something cool you want to do, build it, and keep adding to it until you think your done, then stare at it for half an hour, decide your not and keep going, two of my most upvoted builds were made this way.
