What are the things you hate to see in creations?

5,468 MasterLobster  7.3 years ago

Hello! I decided these forums needed a bit more community interaction, and a poll that might (probably won't) increase the quality of planes!

The question is simple, you just post the things that you hate to see in creations, could be aesthetical, could be functional, it doesn't matter,
For example, I hate wings that have the wing blocks sticking out like this, I think it looks hideous and lazy, and I refuse to upvote or even fownload a plane that has those kinds of wings.

Your turn now.

@MasterLobster Oh I see now, using rotators. I used to do that, I stopped it when it didn't work on the Seahawk lol, I might start doing it again thougn

@EpicPigster1 I'm talking about covering it with more fuselage blocks that move, like with the Super Etendard, it takes a long time, but it's worth it if you like making things look cool.

@MasterLobster I mean, if you cover it, it tends to look a bit less good since the control surfaces pop out and is unrealistic. But I can see your point.

@MasterLobster Ok lol, guess I need to stop doing it then :)

@DeezDucks Yeah, but it pretty much ruins the wing shape, I like to do a lot of extra work just so I can cover it with fuselage pieces and make it more realistic.

@EpicPigster1 Yep, but it's nothing personal, just something I dislike in general.

Well, I do it because I don't like it when the ailerons or flaps are hidden in the wing and pop out when you use them. But I dislike people who make wings whos roots don't go flush with the curve of the body.

I hate when ppl make big lazy planes and call them "THE BIGGEST PLANE ON SIMPLEPLANES" and when ppl make planes without crediting them and claiming they did it on their own

    I hate it when:
    1. Things (esp. cars) are like 2x realistic size (unfortunately this is very common, even in REPLICAS)
    2. Flashing textures from intersecting parts

@MasterLobster Would my planes with exposed wings (ie the 767 and mustang) be like what you said that you hate?

@DemonSniper8 @Awsomur @Fjorge I feel like a failure lol, I just posted a P-51 and it has rivets for christs sake (100% overdetailed)

@ChiChiWerx Yeah, I also don't like that, I made sure flights couldn't take too long on my last replica, for the sake of realism and show how bad the fuel sortage was at that time.

Oh and I don't like planes which fly too perfectly, cuz in real life, planes don't fly perfectly.

I realize I'm going to start a lot of hate by saying this, but: Infinite fuel. Completely unrealistic...it's like a cheat that even talented builders resort to using. 2. U.S. insignia improperly placed...look, the stars and bats only go on the left wing, as seen from above and the left wing as seen as below, NOT on both wings. Plus, the star points forward! 3. Stock landing gear on replicas. I will concede that the swerviness almost forced builders to use stock gear and building stock gear can be tedious, but the results are usually worth it! The same goes for using that stock 2-tire wheel for a tailgear! 4. Flankers. 'Nuff said.

And when a person builds your favourite plane, but they make it fly sh^^, and claim that "that's how it flies in real life, and an Antonov AN-2 isn't meant to fly like a fighter jet". @LatteCoffee55

I just wanna point out that I only hold people to a standard if they have been here a long time. Silvers and Bronzes get upvotes from me if I think they spent time on the build and put some care into it, regardless of any mistakes.
