@Aarons123 Your real life info is really wrong. Yes, flares are also used to spot and illuminate stuff, but in planes they are used to counter heat seeking missiles, because flares burn at really high temperatures, probably hotter than the jet engines. Chaff, on the other hand, don't do shit to heat seekers, their sole purpose is to reflect radio waves emitted by radars back to them, so they think the chaff is the jet and go for it instead. So flares for heat seekers, chaff for radar guided missiles.

@Aarons123 flares also do this they are so hot they distract the missle from going to the plane (yes a little late lol)

Chaff is counter radar-targeting missiles (guardian)
    Flares counter heat-seeking missiles (inferno)

@ValtsuAircraftIndustries I don't know about in game but I'm guessing yes.

@Aarons123 So chaff protects you from Guardian missiles?

(Real life info) flares are used to spot and locate things. They are also used to light up areas. Chaff is deployed when a heat seeking missile is aproaching the plane, the heat seeking missile will see the chaff (which is hotter then the jets engines on the plane) and go for it saving the plane. That's all I know :D
