The Wright Cold War Part I
Tensions are flaring...

Independence Day:
April 6th 2017, 10:50 AM:
The mayor Sky Park City and his council declares independence from the Wright Isles in the following statement:
"For years, the Wright Isles have been oppressing the citizens of Sky Park City. As of today, we the people declare independence from the Wright Isles, and form the Republic of Sky Park City."
SPC's claims were not completely false. The Wright Isles did forcibly annex the small island, forced the population to build racetracks and ramps for the annual Wright Autoshow, and dissolved their military. However, the small population of 400 people was hardly enough to be considered a city in the first place. Still, this event blatantly showed the gross oppression the Wright Isles were committing.
"At least they haven't declared war on us" noted the Wright Defense Secretary.
"We went to such extremes to keep the truth secret. Now all of that is for nothing. Our image as a democracy is ruined" admitted the WR President.
"This isn't just publicly" replied the Defense Secretary; "I just got a call from the
leader of the Krakabloan Millita. They're cutting all ties with us".
Angrily, the WR President slammed his fist down on the table, filled with rage.
"We will plan a fix for this later. For now we must stop war with SPC, or Krakabloa."

Rocky Relations:
April 9th, 2017:
The Wright President travelled to Krakabloa to explain his situation to the King of Krakabloa.
"You simply don't understand" argued the WR President.
"I fully understand dictatorship!" yelled the King of KB.
"That isn't the full story!" refuted the President.
"But it is part of it! I'll have no more dealings with your communist state!"
"Your overreacting to this! Don't turn this into the Third Wright-Krakabloa war!"
"By the time my Millita is done with you, you won't have time for a war."
The King signaled the guards to escort the President back to his transport. Upon his return, the Wright President realized his citizens were just as disgusted as the King. Filled with guilt, he announced his resignation, and turned over leadership to the Vice President. However, the Defense Secretary declared this a time of crisis, and took command of the island. He mobilized the Wright Air Force, and began full isolation of the island.

Skies the Limit:
May 2017:
Sky Park City had now started to receive diplomats from all over the archipelago. The KB King ordered a squadron of Desert Raiders be given to the island. With monetary and diplomatic support from Krakabloa and Maywar, the island began to expand their army. Meanwhile, Wright was being shunned as a terrorist organization. All trade routes to them had been cut off, and all visitors returned to their home islands.
"Perhaps we should start acting like a dictatorship, seeing as we're being labeled as one" suggested the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
"We ain't gonna go that far yet" said the Defense Secretary. "But we have to prepare for an attack from Krakabloa."
"I agree. What measures shall we take?" said the Vice President, who at this point was just standing around with no job.
"Ya'll go and get in the underground command center. We going to move the population underground. I have a feeling we're going to be bombed soon" said the DF Secretary in his thick southern accent:
"This is the start of a Cold War".
