I was playing SP today and wondered, why there isn't any other major land masses in the game other than the islands of Tanley, Murphy, Snowstone, Maywar, and Skypark. No matter how far you go, there is nothing but infinite amounts of water.

Its not because the map of SP is actually a really small planet, no matter how long you travel in one direction, you never loop back to any of the islands.

And yes, I know its because of game engine limitations and all sorts of other programming stuff, but if you guys could actually make a story as to why there isn't any other major landmasses then that would be awesome.

My personal theory is because there was a massive war against humanity and an alien race. The aliens basically flooded the planet, and the survivors had to flee to the tops of the mountains. The reason why we don't see any "civilians" is because the military has basically absorbed all civilians into the military (think Terminator franchise and the resistance). That would explain why we only see military vehicles in the game. We only see carriers, destroyers, military convoys with anti-air capabilities, etc.

Also, the reason why I said a war against aliens is because of all the weird and crazy things we are capable of making in SP, parts that quite literally float in mid-air, to literal flying pigs. Its because you're building with all these weird alien materials that normally wouldn't be found on Earth, or capable of producing yet.

It would also explain why you are building in the game, you aren't a single person, or some magic floating hands, you are a contractor who is tasked with creating things to help humanity rebuild itself from the war.
