So recently, someone I follow has spotlighted an old post... and the very first comment on it was
"This rating has been grandfathered in from the old rating system."
This comment was by this person... and I just want to know who it is...

before the site had upvotes, planes were rated on a _/5 star system. The grandfather account was originally made by AndrewGarrison (i think, pls no quote) to make it easy for popular craft from that time to be found easily, because the reworking of the system meant it had to be reset. So, basically, it's an archive.
Here’s a definition of “grandfathered”:
“exempt (someone or something) from a new law or regulation.”
Maybe they changed the rating system a long time ago and they made that account to “grandfather” certain upvotes from the system.
Ok
Once up on a time, in very old history, SP had a different rating system. You rated planes with a star system. 1 star = sh^^^, 5 stars = awesome. Understandably, the came quite a lot of hate when someone rated the plane 1 or 2 stars. All of a sudden, everything changed. The rating system was replaced with upvotes, and every rating which was 3 stars and above, changed to an upvotes. SP Grandfather is a bot who told everyone that the rating system had changed.
And that is the story of SP Grandfather. Good night little one!
Maybe its like the Jundroo account
