Boeing, the company that has bought McDonnell Douglas, and helped Piper at one time, is now talking about buying Brazilian plane maker Embraer. This would be a massive blow to Airbus, who recently bought majority of Bombardiers C-Series jet production in response to duties applied by the government as a result of Boeing claiming that Bombardier was selling C-Series jets below price.
Boeing and Embraer have been long time partners, and Boeing has even helped sell the Embraer KC-390 Now, Boeing is offering to buy Embraer for a whopping $3.71b. Talks are currently on hold waiting for the Brazilian government to agree with going ahead.
My Opinion:
What would this mean? Embraer jets are still very popular, so Boeing would keep the production up. Also, Boeing would be able to lower the price because the E jets would probably start being built in the U.S. while the 737 would be made in Brazil. Boeing would see an incredible boost in sales because of the new all-time low prices for regional-mid size jets. Boeing would also be able to use the money to boost it's planned 797 production (the 797 is a planned successor to the 737 MAX)
WHAT DO YALL THINK?

I was shocked when I saw this
@TruttleBlock173 Boeing promised to protect the EMBRAER Brand.
unfortunately for Boeing, and fortunately for me, the President of Brazil said that he will never allow the sale of Embraer... the market is free, and I am 100% Capitalist, but I confess that I would be very sad if Embraer was bought by Giant Boeing, considering that McDonnell Douglas simply disappeared after its sale, the same would happen with Embraer, and this would probably inflict a lot on the aeronautics engineering sector in Brazil, and if Boeing decided to reallocate the factories to the United States, this will increase the unemployment rates in Brazil, which is already very high, not to mention the fact that the military industry would collapse because Embraer holds the largest pearls of Brazilian military engineering, such as the A-29, KC-390, EMB 312 Tucano, and I could also cite the modernization of F-5E fighters, which made them capable of shoot down fighters like the F-18E/F Super Hornet, as demonstrated in UNITAS training in 2015 .
@EpicPigster1 Dang that aircraft still in service.....
@ForeverPie Air Transat Flight 961.
@EpicPigster1 how...
@dootdootbananabus An Airbus nearly killed me. And my family. I hate them for that.
@dootdootbananabus exactly :/
@ForeverPie thats exactly why they're sad
@dootdootbananabus But those sad planes barely left the drawing board.
@EpicPigster1 u wot m8
Remember: Boeing only made a double decker with a top fuselage that didn't stretch till the end of the plane,Airbus made the full double decker.
A plane that looks like a sad commmuist whale
Another plane that looks sad
@TheReaperPyro Yep
@TheReaperPyro The third engine on the L-10-11 is uneconomical, there are larger, more efficient 2 engine aircraft out there.
The 737 would probably not be made in Brazil. It would probably stay the way it is, just because it would cost Boeing a fortune to ship the 737 fuselages from Wichita to Brazil. It would also take forever. Still, nice post. Good to know that Airbus is still a POS company.
@ForeverPie cool!
I feel like Boeing may out source jobs to Brazil. I hope they don't. However I'm not educated in financial aspects.
@corsair013 lol
This is gonna get gooood...
@Brields95 Yep
This will be a huge blow to Bombardiair. Also, this may bring back money into the US market, as Embraer sells many aircraft abroad, especially to the militaties of other countries BUT... some designs that are in production will no doubt be shelved. RIP to the Toucano and super Toucano.
Also this will aid in The US's new defense contract which is Military Industrial Complex.
@Carsong1017 Yes
0w0 fo' real now?
Hurray! Mergers always seem like a good idea to me.
