Mind-Melting Theories/Concepts, and Their Explanations

1. Schrödinger’s Cat Theory

This theory states that nothing actually exists until you observe it or otherwise interact with it. Basically, it implies that everything exists in it’s own separate dimension, and when you interact with said object, your two realities overlap. For example: You have a cat. You put a box over your cat. Now, technically, in your personal dimension, the cat no longer exists. Take the box off, your realities intersect again, and voila, there’s the cat. Also there’s some stuff about quantum superstition and whatnot, but if you want to know about that, read Mattangi’s comment.

2. The Multiverse Theory

This theory states that there are infinite universes, with infinite possibilities, constantly ending, starting, and existing. It is the same as the Alternate/Parallel Dimension Theory. For every choice made in our universe, the opposite choice is played out in hundreds of thousands of infinite other universes.

3. The Dead Grandfather Theory

This theory is used to try and explain time paradoxes. It goes like this: Say you get a time machine, go back in time, and accidentally kill your grandfather before he met your grandmother. This means your parents were not born, and therefore, you were not born. This, however, means that you could not have gone back in time to kill your grandfather, which meant you were still alive, which meant you went back in time and killed him, and so on.

4. Infinity

This will melt your brain if you think about it for to long, because the human brain is incapable of comprehending the concept of infinity, or the concept of absolutely nothing. Which when you think about are actually the same thing... anyways...
The bottom sentence is false.
The top sentence is true.

5. The Butterfly Effect (Courtesy Of RyneKuczy

The butterfly effect basically means that if you get a time machine and do something in the past, it will have far reaching future implications. Say a butterfly flaps it’s wings, that could create the perfect conditions for a hurricane or tornado later on.
On a sort of related note, if you go back in time, you’ve already been back in time.

@Knight697 that is not a infinity loop. It is a paradox. Now, it has the term infinity in the make up though. It has a infinite amount of numbers in TIME. A number is just a symbol used to describe a amount of something. There is a infinite amount of TIME in that paradox.

Ok, but what if it’s an infinite loop, as described in 3? That’s not numbers

Infinity is simple. Some people just don’t get it at first glance. Infinity is a AMOUNT of NUMBERS. Not a number but a amount of numbers. Infinity is what we use to explain and name the fact that numbers never stop going. You can have INFINITE amount of numbers. Like 10<10(false) you can add one hundredth and it would be correct. Add a one quadrillionth, and it would be correct. Add any amount of zeros and a 1 and it would be correct. There is a infinite amount of numbers between 1 and 2. Same with every other number. Infinity is a easy concept to grasp, it just takes some thinking.

    @RyneKuczy Good Idea!

The Butterfly Effect is a really cool concept I recommend checking out. Basically it says that small actions can turn into massive consequences through coincidence. Ex. A butterfly flapping its wings in the right place at the right time causes the perfect weather conditions down the road to create a tornado. I’m sure Wikipedia could explain it a lot better than me though!

The idea of nothing can’t exist because there is nothing but that means there is something, and that something is the Idea of nothing but that means nothing can’t exist but it does at the same time

@JohnnyBoythePiloy, actually, there can be a physical alternate universe, as the theory describes it as infinite universes with infinite possibilities, all existing in one, uncomprehendingly, insanely GIGANTIC multiverse

Here’s a language one for you. What is a shadow. A concrete at abstract noun? It is the lack of light or empty space but you can see it.....

Basically, there's an alternate universe where I didn't post this comment....

    M I N D B L O W N

I don't think alternate universes exist physically. I mean, we have 7-9 Billion something people on this planet. Think of the zillions of alternate universes there would be. In my opinion, alternate universe is just an alternate scenario that could have happened.

I see them more as paths that could have happened, depending on your choice. So alternate universes really exist in your mind, how things could have happened, but I don't think there are actual physical alternate universes because their would be an infinite number of them. Damn, your brain really does start to melt when you think real hard about this. It's just incredible.
