How do I successfully VTOL land?

Ive been trying to land this aircraft in VTOL but I cant figure out how to do it. Pls help

    1. Approach landing area in VTOL mode
    2. Reduce airspeed by pitching back and/or rotating engines back if applicable
    3. Control throttle while keeping the aircraft above the landing area or in approach
    4. On touching landing area, throttle down to prevent bounce
