Argentina Invasion
On July 3rd of 2030. Argentinian Forces moved in to invade Paraguay and Uruguay with the intent of unifying South America by force. Supported by Paternian equipment and funds, they quickly took over both regions resulting in the other surrounding nations to start seeking assistance from foreign powers or surrender.
Federation Supports South Africa
The Federation sent nearly 12,000 Peacekeepers to assist Peru, Ecuador, and Chile. With all units kept under tighter than usual watch and supervised by Prestigious academy forces. This was done to prevent as many mishaps with Peacekeepes and the locals. The goal was to send as many forces into these areas to deter any invasion due to the risk of harming Federation forces and starting a war with one of the largest superpowers in the world at the time. The plan had succeeded and Argentina stopped their invasion. Many nations seeked aid from the Federation resulting in Argentinan forces falling back. Columbia later joined on their own will.
Paternia
Paternia on the other hand, unhappy with the outcome of the situation and the Federation decided to make an attempt to turn the situation back in their favor. Bribing locals and police forces, they were able to make false claims against Federation Peacekeepers. Word spread quickly and quietly around about rewards for false claims by Paternia. This resulted in a large amount of apparent cases of murder, theft, etc. 2,821 to be exact. Further investigation found confessions from civilians of being paid off in various ways along with police forces too. More so, contracted civilian investigators found no trace of many incidents taking place and some theft to have been staged to try to make their claims more real. Of all the claims made, 81 were proven incidents. Though at least 150 Incidents are thought to be real cases but without sufficient evidence or through political means were released to try to improve relations. The Federation though compensated the nations and people for all claims, real or fake.
The motive for Paternia was to allow for South America to be united. A United South America would become a large economic superpower in time. Along with a close by trading partner, and potential ally. With the Federation in the way, they attempted to reduce the public opinion of them causing the South American nations to kick them out leaving them defenseless.
Peru and Ecuador
To improve relations with Ecuador, the Federation cut the debt owed in half without taking any of their oil in place of currency. Both Ecuador and Peru joined an alliance with the Federation to deter any future invasion of South America by any sort of force as such an act would provoke a response from the Federation.
Federation Withdraws
After the incident had passed, all Federation forces (other than ones arrested by local police for proven crimes) were to withdraw to lower tensions. Though, both Peru and Ecuador requested to keep a single destroyer near the coast and a couple groups of soldiers to prevent future incidents and provide the Federation with the ability to react in the area to any events as soon as possible.
