So It is no secret I am beyond extremely excited for SimpleRockets2. Being a huge fan of Jundroo in the first place, and a huge fan of KSP and the persistent sandbox with both planet atmosphere and space physics. Naturally a marriage of this is literally going to make the perfect game for my tastes. This literally isnt just SR2. Simplerockets 2 WILL in essence also be Simple Planes 2. In earths atmosphere, all plane capabilities are there.
That being said i want to do one last build within simple planes. One that i would work on for however long it is until Early Access hits Steam. So weeks at the least. Months at the most.
I WANT to build a near futuristic space fighter SSTO type craft. Here is where you guys come into play. I want your help. Post pictures of a near future space fighter type craft you eant me to build and release the day SR2 is released in Early Access. I plan to also recreate the build in SR2 as one of my first builds. So PLEASE. post pictures of stuff you like to inspire me. I will hand out upvotes like crazy for just helping and contributing! More you inspire me for my final SP build the more upvotes ill pour upon you!
THANKS GUYS!
Yours truly for nearly 3 years now

Also seriously considering starting back up a youtube channel dedicated to SR2 aswell. The format will be different but yeah.
@Carbonfox1 when SR2 is out. I will no longer play SP at all anymore most likely.
Maybe draw some inspiration from these:
Aegis Avenger
Aegis Gladius
and I'd be a bad person not to link something from Star Wars, but I actually like the
A-wing
@WhiteRabbit Good luck! I’ll see you on there!
Leaving us again? lol
@WhiteRabbit yes, there are only couple small islands in SP, but at least there are runways'n'stuff on them. In SR2, you will take off, and what... That is why I proposed for SP to have only one small and detailed planet with many airfields, forests, mountains, etc.
@MechWARRIOR57 i like the idea of the variable geometry, will assist in re entry when the build is made in SR2. Im just hoping a hybrid or Aerospike engine will eventually be available in SR2. Otherwise separate engines for in and out of atmosphere flight will be needed.
@WhiteRabbit exactly! thats what i was trying to do with my old ssto's but failed, thing is i was trying to make it so they didnt have assisted takeoff and stuffs, but that didnt work out so i just made them planes with ksp style engines
@BaconEggs true, not enough tho. More wamt to see interesting concepts people may know of or stumbled upon that ive never seen before. Elites ships imho jist arent exotic looking enough for what im looking for i guess.
Well
you do still play elite occasionally
@MechWARRIOR57 your train of thought is def matching mine. Small fins for lift in atmosphere. But balanced in Zero G with full lateral thrust controls.
@RailfanEthan they probably dont want to pay for something else
@DerekSP how can you say no interesting things to explore in a plane i. SR2. Instead of having a small group of islands. There will be ENTIRE planets to fly around and explore. Plus with a persistant sandbox you can build a base of in-game parts and continuously add to it. Also think about launching a rocket with a payload of a piwered glider that unfolds. You could launch from earth, get yourself to another omanet with an atmosphere ( here is where the custom planet maker is interesting) enter orbit, detaxh payload, de orbit, unfold powered glider, and fly around an ENTIRE NEW planet in its own atmosphere, totally new physics to fly in and explore how flight works in THAT atmosphere. All this sounds like a hyge upgrade to the simple planes model. And all this sounds 100 times more interesting to me than what the SimplePlanes sandbox offers.
hmm, i think somethign with small wings and maybe variable geometry wings etc, maybe even thrust vectoring
@RailfanEthan <--- this guy gets it.
@DerekSP updates will bring prop engines to SR2 i am sure.
@DerekSP its been confirmed there will be easter eggs, so i will be using planes to explore planets with atmosphere
I can’t quite see that coming until like 2022 cause look at the time gap between SP and SR2 @DerekSP
@Chancey21 Or they could just make SP2 similar to SR2, but with only one, detailed planet
I think after SR2 comes 1.8 and then SR2 1.1 which will hopefully have better plane support @DerekSP
SR2 is far from being SP2. It will be more focused on the space aspect of it, there will be no interesting environment to explore by a plane, and parts such as prop engines will be missing
So true @RailfanEthan

Do that one
@RailfanEthan Thats just wacky lulz
the best part about SR2 is most people who asked for space in SP don't want SR2
