What is mobile friendly? All I know is it's hard to build to. I can download and fly a 900+ part airplane easily on my Galaxy 9, but I have problems with a 600+ part plane I built because of XML editing. Additionally one of the reasons those planes look so good is that part count. Mobile Friendly is a hard target to hit. not trying to step on anyones posts, just seems there are a lot of these requests lately. Once again just my 2 cents.....
@Nerfenthusiast 600?? Wow I missed a huge line. Especially with my Montana build...
Mobile friendly means low part count, used for phones. from 100+ to 500+?
Which means, that thing, should be run'able at most phones, from high-end flagships to entry-level phones. Sounds fair
There are no real definition of a mobile friendly creations as there are very wide varieties of mobile device out there
.
But usually a mobile friendly creations are stripped off of all the decoration pieces and all the non critical stuff although certain devices would still lag
@RamboJutter I almost put this post in your last build simply because of that but I didn't want to hijack your thread
Every time I build something of late i get asked for a mobile friendly version, now as most of my parts come from camo or hollow fuselage etc it's pretty difficult to remove all of that and keep the look just to make it more friendly. I'm all for smaller part count to help mobile users but I enjoy building details... just my thoughts on the matter
Generally I try to keep my builds at a maximum of 500 parts to ensure that most users can download them. My next upload will be an exception to that rule, though.
600 is generally considered mobile friendly but my phone runs several thousand part planes
I ditto that, certain builds can be made less laggy by removing drag calculation on fuselages and other parts (very useful for ships and large stuff)
@DuckMint
I think Builds with less than 100 parts are mobile friendly
Just an opinion
Or less than 1000 parts is mobile friendly too
500-400 ish is where I start to worry, never tested it though
I would say my limit is 650 for a decent frame rate
Physics intensive parts have a higher lag input; suspension, wings, buoyancy, wheels have a lot more lag than basic fuselage parts.
I'd say that 500 would be the cutoff for most mobile users. Like you, I can handle more on my phone, but obviously there's others that aren't as fortunate.
I say that if you can add the detail, then go for it. Sometimes when I make a train, people ask for a mobile verison, so I take off parts and edit it so the shape and details are there, but with less parts (and usually no interior).
Go crazy, just make a mobile friendly one unlisted and have a link in the description lol
