First of all, I am by no means the best builder, these are just some things I thought I would share with everyone. I hope it is useful, especially for new players. Anyways, let's get started.
I definitely recommend using fuselage blocks to build your crafts. It saves on parts, looks better and allows for much more customization. One block to rule them all. However for a new player, they might seem extremely complicated. This forum post is dedicated towards them. I will explain how one should work with a fuselage block and give advice.
Here's a fuselage block. I have not tempered with it. This is how it appears when you add it from the part list.
We see three customizable parameters.
- Length isn't really that complicated. It sets the length of the fuselage block.
- Rise is defined in mathematics as: "How far a line goes up (for a given distance along).". The same is true here, although in our case the line is a fuselage block. When set to a negative number it will go down.
- Run is the same, but sideways. For this reason, I will not be addressing run specifically further in this post.
Let's put it into practice.
A fuselage with it's length set to 5.
A fuselage with it's run set to one.
One thing to note is that using the run and rise features, the front and rear angles do not change, as opposed to a fuselage that is rotated.
This is why it's impossible to make 90° curves without using rotation.
The front and rear of a fuselage block have even more cool parameters. Let's run through them.
- Width sets width.
- Height sets height.
- Corner is the most interesting one. It sets the corners.
You can choose from:
- Hard, a 90° corner
- Smooth is hard, except with smoothened corners. Still appears quite square.
- Curved, a more curvy corner.
- Circular will always try to maintain a circular shape.
You can combine the corner types using the Manual corner type.
That's it for now. Hope you learned something from it. If you did, hit the upv-

wait, I don't have to build out of blocks?
lol
Ok @BologneseEX
@Stratus you usually can when you can read back and see other sarcastic comments big brain
How do you see binary instead of text tho that must be cool af
Kind of hard when the sarcasm is in a series of 1’s and 0’s without a tone of voice. @BologneseEX
@Stratus you can't detect sarcasm can you
@BologneseEX
@Stratus lmao bruh I know how to fuselage block
ok
If I’m trying to help you, the least you can do is not be a jerk. @BologneseEX
@Stratus when you get banned
You’ll figure it out one day, it’s very useful once you know how to use it. @BologneseEX
I deadass dont know how to fuselage block
Knowledge increased 9000!
His kitchen was on fire
@CruzerBlade ?
I have sudden realization
I KNOW HOW TO FUSELAGE BLOCK.
No, but god does@Squirrel
I mean, does anybody truly know how to fuselage block?
Joke aside, nice post.
waits patiently for @StallFlight to finish the "hit the upv-" sentence, hand resting on banhammer
I studied engineering in school for 2 years, studied aerospace engineering for a further 2 years in college and then aerospace technology in university for 3 years. I've worked with center lathes, milling machines, 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, learned the basic principles on how to build and manufacture aircraft, I learned the physics behind them and helped design one for a group project. But even after all of this, after all these years of searching for the answer, I still don't know...
