Can Someone Please Specify What the Electric SP Tag Means/Includes?

25.2k JohnnyBoythePilot  5.7 years ago

@randomusername is making a big deal over nothing over the fact my Fand fighter is listed under the Electric SP tag because it uses a gas/electric hybrid propulsion system. He thinks the tag should only includes builds powered by custom rotator engines with spinning wings as props (basically unlimited power) and believes people outside of SP might get "offended" because I'm using the default SP engines to represent the electric plasma ramjet and those who are "offended" might defame or hate on SP over something as stupid as this. I see plenty of other builds under the electric tag such as STOL n' Thunder and the iPhone drone that use regular SP engines instead of unlimited rotator engines.

Can someone please end this insanity?

THANK YOU for clarifying that! That's what I believed the tag meant as well, and intention is the basis for determining what tags go on your build.

    Don't bring politics into this.

@JohnnyBoythePilot @randomusername "Electric" tag was meant for builds that would be powered by electricity rather than fuel oil in real life, regardless of what engine they use on SP to get the effect.

*Electric is actually worse than gas in America. Just ask all of trumpy's coal plants that question

Well everyone has their own unique style of doing things. And this was a mere concept of mine; not a fully fledged-out model like my latest QLX-125, BAE Broadsword, or BNRV-36A Broadsword where those models took around 2 months each to develop (time constraints). Like I said if you want to be die-hard focused on definitions and specifics, fine, you do you, but don't force it on others.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS ITS A CONCEPT! OF COURSE SP DOESN'T HAVE ELECTRIC ENGINES OR PROPULSION SO I USED THE VTOL ENGINE + NOZZLES AS A SUBSTITUTE! Will you just drop this nonsense already? Your acting like I just committed a major sin in SP building! Again, I included the electric tag because the idea behind it utilizes some form of electric propulsion. Don't you know what role-playing or using your imagination is?

Weĺl to be honest, I also think that planes that are tagged as electric should have alternative means of propulsion without gas. Because where else can you tagg them? You can build a electric jet with rotators and honestly It will be faster to a plane with a normal jet engine. And yes stol n thunder it's not really electric by this definition.

Oh wow that sounds neat. That would be great if you could link me that mod. I just finished a rough basic prototype of an SSTO shuttle. Yea Randomusername is the only user I've seen complaining about this tag nonsense.

If you can get ahold of gestours old simple Space 2 mod it has solar panels that actually recharge your batteries ie gas tanks.
Using this setup I have also tag things under Electric. Never had anybody complain.
Come to think of it if you search back in my comments I should have a link 2 a drop box copy of simple Space 2. I will try to find the link for you later if you don't find it already.
