Sorry, not sure why I tagged you there. Sorry if that was confusing. I do need to change length (or Z), but I need to change the engine's exhaust Z, not the in-game Z.

That changes the engine exhaust's scale by the in-game Z axis. I need to change the (independent) engine's own exhaust Z axis.
If you have the Overload mod, use it on a engine, go to the engine tab. If you see "exhaustScale" then change the 3rd number from 1 to whatever you want
