Le Rallye du Ciel
(The Rally of the Sky)
2 stages,
First stage :
Constructor’s Stage
– Design
Teams design and build their own group-B rally aircraft.
A rally aircraft would be the aviation equivalent of a rally car—designed for fast, rugged, precision flying through challenging terrain, possibly in time-trial competitions or long-distance events with variable conditions. It'd combine speed, agility, and durability.
How it will be judged :
Speed -/10
Handling -/10
Fuel efficiency -/10
bonus for livery/design -/10
Rules : No mods other than XML and overload.
Very limited use of XML, specifically :
You may reduce drag by referring to this research.
No jets. No weapons. No thrust modding. Other than that, there's no limit to the shape of your aircraft.
You can only submit one official plane. (Must be a successor ofc)
Stage 1 concludes at the stroke of midnight between April 30th and May 1st UTC.
(UPDATE : HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO MAY 3rd)
My friends are taking my time, has something to do with a retirement idk.
Second stage :
Racing
Phase 1: Les Essais de Qualification – The Qualification Trials
Only 16 (or more) aircraft will qualify at max.
Flown on my device with maxed out physics. (The aircraft would be piloted by ingame AI in preexisting courses. There will be a forum post where I link unlisted videos of them qualifying, they each get 10 tries each which I will record and post unaltered.if the aircraft crashes during qualification, it'll be disqualified.)
Phase 2: Duel Aérien – Aerial Duel (1v1)
A standard elimination tournament.
will be recorded and posted to the forum as well.
Finale: Le Duel Suprême – The Supreme Duel
Will be recorded and posted unaltered. There will be a highlights video as well (if I'm not tired by then)
constructor's podium
1st - 10 upvotes and a spotlight (if possible)
2nd - 8 upvotes
3rd - 5 upvotes

Grand Podium
Or(Gold) - 20 upvotes
Argent(Silver) - 15 upvotes
Bronze - 10 Upvotes
Les qualifiés (qualifiers) - 2 upvotes.

@RB107 ig I could just give them classes. Class1 and 2.
I'll classify them after they're submitted depending on their grades.
Class 2 (weaker ones) would be racing on other maps that suit slower, tighter racing if there are maps that fit that desc
@TheMikolorian Ocean View Speedway for qualifying. And the one five that comes after it for the elimination are Typhoon Circuit, Eagle Pass, Bandit Run, Shark Tooth and Trench Run for the finale
(UPDATE : STAGE II HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO MAY 3rd)
My friends taking my time, has something to do with a retirement idk.
It's preferred that you name your racing team.
I suggest y'all remove collisions from your props. The AI doesn't care about mid air collisions. I'm expecting some wrestling during the Elimination phase.
@WzNick ok....
@SemedianIndustries you could still do it, if you want to submit it as a racer. If you want it to change successors you could ask a mod.
@Solent yeah. That would make sense.
@WzNick so basically i have to add a battery system considering it's rated ny fuel efficiency
@WzNick you should issue an official speed limit regulation. Some skilled builders can design 900+ speed planes and it will be less fair for low experience players
@TheMikolorian it's OP if the rest of the competition are going at 500km/h.
@Solent as long as it isn't unrealistic, I'll allow it.
@WzNick and which course will it be flying on?
@TheMikolorian it's just not gonna be fuel efficient or maneuverable
@WzNick oh so 1120km/h without drag reduction is too op?
but "electric" (aka rorator powered) is cheating, right?
@Solent yeah sure. Just don't cheat. I trust yall
@WzNick so i'll just build a plane with realistic drag like i always do?
@SemedianIndustries alr I'll add it to the drag reduction rule set. Thanks.
@WzNick tbh, I've reduced drag to realistic levels, according to this research
@SemedianIndustries it's too OP dude is averaging 900+kmh at straights while cornering like an ace pilot. Plus it would pass regulations since the fuselage has drag reduction. ( modded drag)
@Solent custom nose cones will now be allowed.
wait so i can't reduce drag on custom nosecones to make it not stall off full speed in a second after throttle is cut? like before drag removal my average plane has like 10000 drag points and it's not even my fault
I would have submitted my Silver Dragon here if I had noticed this challenge before :(
@TheMikolorian thank you for participating.
