M.W. 70 Light Fighter Mk.10D
INFO: I’m sorry. I know I said Mk.9 was going to be the end but… I found this plane has a lot of potential and I started making a bunch more versions of it. I started adding high caliber gun pods on it, (I’m talking like, launch a ship straight out of the water.) I started putting small bomb loadouts, etc. This plane is honestly my go-to plane when I felt bored. I made way too many versions just to keep to myself. So I picked this updated stock model because it ended up being very successful. It’s a slim, cut wing version of the Mark 9. I know it does not look very different, but trust me, I made a lot of changes to this plane. The plane might veer to the right. That’s only because drag builds up on the back wheel as the plane accelerates.
CHANGELOG: The wings are thinner and now have no dihedral. This allows more airflow around the wings, significantly reducing drag, and increasing turning performance. The plane is 1000+ pounds lighter, which means it flies and turns faster than the previous planes.. The inlet in the center has been removed and replaced with two thin inlets under the wings, Mainly because the inlet was dragging too much air from the wings causing it to reduce it's own speed. Now with these new inlets, it reduced drag and allowed me to put a pylon on the undercarriage so you can put bombs or the multi-weapon pylon extension that was on the classic M.W. 70 until the Mark 9. Longer landing gear, merged the pod for the wing guns to reduce drag, and it looks cool. The horizontal stabilizer and flaps have been tweaked for optimal turning performance. I have also added nav lights if you are flying at night. I kept back wheel so you can steer on the ground (despite drag). Replaced the old 20mm cannons with four 15mm HVAP (High-Velocity Armour piercing) cannons. I also added a 30mm autocannon. Due to optimizations, cruise speed went from 333mph to 400mph.
ARMAMENT: x1 30mm autocannon x4 15mm cannons up to 500 lbs. of bombs.
CONTROLS: AG1 to activate 30mm cannon. AG2 to activate the 15mm cannons. AG3 to activate Pylon. AG4 to activate Nav lights. VTOL ? down for optimal turning performance during dogfights. VTOL all the way down for landing flaps. Basic flight controls.
TIPS: I’ve tried to stop the tipping problem on landing. I fixed it a little bit but if you are landing over 100 mph, you will tip forwards. Take altitude to your advantage. Lure your enemy into a dive. One flaw about this plane is the 20mm cannons on the Mark 9 shot many more bullets at once, so be more precise with your shots on this one.
