Forerunner War Sphinx
Disclaimer: As there is only concept art, and each art piece is completely different from one another, this is my own version of a Halo War Sphinx.
Long before recorded history, Ancient Humanity stumbled upon an alien civilization that called themselves the Forerunners. As it seemed Humanity was rapidly expanding their borders, the two civilizations didn't get along too well, and thus began the Human/Forerunner Wars.
War Sphinxes, used by Forerunner Warrior-Servants, are combat vehicles that are mech, aircraft, and space fighter all in one. Each War Sphinx needed only one pilot, and even then, it could operate independently with its built-in Ancilla, which was a partial digital reconstruction of its pilot's neural imprint.
These vehicles were used over the many battles fought between humans and Forerunners, until the Forerunners eventually won the conflict. As penance, they reduced their vanquished foes to a stone age civilization, both physically and mentally. As it turned out, Humanity was not expanding its borders with hostile intentions, but were running from a far greater threat that would eventually be known as the Flood.
At this time, War Sphinxes were outclassed and all but replaced by the larger and more powerful Seekers. With all other options exhausted, these outdated machines helped hold back the Flood while the Halo Array was constructed, and eventually fired. Now, all that remains of these constructs are remnants, some dormant and some damaged, as well as the data logs still in terminals after 100,000 years.

@ssenmodnar 😅😅 I'm on the site almost every other day, and I rarely login, so I don't get these notifications regularly.
@L0NGSW0RDPIL0T lmao it's been 9 days chill
@ssenmodnar It's nothing close to a prawn suit.

The atmosphere below was a swirling soup of smoke and
fire. Warrior craft and automated weapon systems were
mostly too small to be visible, but I saw their effects – darting
beams of needle light, glowing arcs cutting across conti-
nents, gigantic, stamplike divots punched into the crust and
then lifted up, spun about, overturned. I had never seen
anything like this – but the Didact had.
Each of these suits had the ability to level entire cities.
And Forerunners had these AND Seekers (destroy continents) deployed in the thousands for a single war.
@SpartanSR91 XD
@SpartanSR91 i guess the sphinx is in the other vid i saved

@L0NGSW0RDPIL0T I'll keep that in mind for future builds, but this was about the war sphinx itself, not the entire Human/Forerunner conflict. I wanted to tell the story purely from the Forerunner's perspective, but also be as short as possible.
@DISHWASHER2005 I saw the Whomp Titan, and maybe a single frame of the toast being orbital dropped, but the vid cuts out before the war sphinx showed up.
@ssenmodnar Trust me, this is way bigger than a prawn suit, but I see the similarities.
Can you not write it that way? Although the wars were indeed partly due to human aggression to make up for the planets lost due to the flood AND due to them bombarding forerunner flood-infested planets to contain the flood (the fleet under Forthencho, the Lord of Admirals, was cleansing flood-infested worlds using orbital bombardment) which, to forerunners, who had not seen the flood as a threat to their ecumene, was an act of aggression, it comes off a bit wrong.
i think you can find this mech in the vid i posted
