Backstory: After the Eurasian-American War, Russia separated itself from the United Eurasian Republic, but its army, navy and air force were weakened a lot, specially with the bankrupcy from Ilyushin, Antonov and Yakovlev. The only companies left were Sukhoi and Mikoyan Gurevich. Sukhoi merged with MiG to create a new company called SiG or Sukhoi Gurevich. This new company was the first to take a contract from the Russian governament for a new interceptor. The result was the SiG 23A Bogatyr. While not the fastest, it was the most versitile and rigid.
