Background
The AN/MPY-227A is a Federation Mobile Surveillance Radar tasked with searching, detecting, and tracking multiple targets. The AN/MPY-227A is under development by the Greyhound Systems and Tadei, the system was employed in 2015. Part of the MIM-226 Trial Air Defense network.
The AN/MPY-227A is a next-generation Mobile Surveillance Radar. Designed to illuminate and provide targeting information for engagement of intercontinental ballistic missiles, as well as hypersonic cruise missiles, aircraft, AWACs and jamming aircraft. With a planned range of 3,500 km (1,800 km for the EPR 0,1 square meter).
