The Scirocco delivers the superior performance and training effectiveness typical of a jet aircraft at costs comparable to high-powered turboprop trainers. The T-12A is aimed at the basic-advanced phases of the pilot training.
Thanks to Thecatbaron , belugasub , and Freerider2142 for helping me during the design and building process, and a special thanks to ChiChiWerx for extensive feedback and testing
The Leonardo T-12A is a compact twin-seat shoulder-wing monoplane trainer aircraft. It is furnished with a retractable tricycle landing gear.
The pilot and instructor, are seated in a tandem configuration. Conventional ailerons are hydraulically-boosted, while both the rudder and elevators are mechanically actuated via pushrods, with one axis electrical trimming for the latter. Secondary flight controls are simple trailing edge flaps, which are electrically actuated, and a belly-mounted air brake, which is electrically controlled and hydraulically actuated.
It has been designed with a secondary close air support capability, being furnished with six underwing hard points (while in active service).
- Realistic flight model and performances
- Realistic Working Landing and Navigation Lights
- Fictional Demonstration Livery
- Smoke Generating System (Air to Ground)
- Nose wheel turn reduces as the speed increases
- Recreated AoA, Flaps and Landing Gears derivating drag
This aircraft doesn't require any particular skills or attention. It's designed to be easy to fly, and most importantly, fun to use.
Flaps can be deployed in 2 fixed position, Take-off, and Approach.
To retract Landing Gears, press AG1, then Landing Gear. Then press again AG1 to close the bay doors, and lock the Landing Gears in place.
-AG-1 Landing Gear Lock
-AG-2 Air brake
-AG-8 Turn On/Off all lights
-Trim To Trim the aircraft
-VTOL Extend Flaps (50% Down for Takeoff, 100% for Approach)
[REMEMBER!] Stall Speed: 75kts (Full Flaps Down)
Takeoff procedure:
- Flaps set to Takeoff (50%).
- Throttle at 100%.
- Use Yaw gently to correct eventual deviations.
Nose wheel turn reduces as the speed increases
- Once reached 170kts, start to gently pull the nose of the aircraft up.
- Retract Landing Gear and press AG-1.
- To lock the landing gears in place, press AG-1 one more time.
- Retract flaps as soon as the aircraft is airborne.
Landing procedure:
- Decrease or increase Throttle if necessary.
- Extend flaps full down below 150 kts. Set the Trim all the way up in the process.
- Maintain a speed of around 135 kts during approach. Power approx. 15%
- Decrease power if needed, or use AG-2 to deploy the ventral air brake.
- Cut off Throttle upon touchdown.
- Use breaks to slow the aircraft down, until it stops.
[CAUTION!] Spawning in an Air Location while already Airborne could result in
a flat spin. To recover from it, Yaw and Roll in the opposite direction.
Hope you'll enjoy, and thanks for downloading!

Beautiful jet, handles very nicely, controls are well harmonized. Great build!
Very great job . Nice plane .
bella!!!
@Balatu i think leonardo would appreciate some tips to improve the Scirocco's flight perfomance
@LeonardoEngineering
We'll purchase that model then.
@TheFantasticTyphoon yes, in the AT-12B version.
@LeonardoEngineering
Thank you. This aircraft has a secondary ground attack capability doesn't it?
@TheFantasticTyphoon whoops, sorry man, sure.
Could I purchase 140 aircraft for the Saltwater Air Force?
!
I made a simple rendering for you
Man you are on a winning streak lately!
I’m fascinated on how you did those wheel flaps, that’s absolutely fantastic! And how the landing gear don’t retract when the flaps are closed, I wish I know how to do that
@ChiChiWerx thank you! Couldn't have been such a gem without your help.
Very cool!
@TheFantasticTyphoon sure, just a couple for now.
Have you got any more projects planned?
Mmmh yes get UPVOTED on, yes quite so...mmmh yes. Nice build lol
This thing is a dream to fly. It is honestly perfect. Thank you!!
@nameisalreadytaken thank you! I'm actually surprised!
@Hedero I'm really happy to hear that! Have fun with it!
Bro I literally love this thing!@LeonardoEngineering
Thank you @edensk !
