The Boeing Sonic Cruiser is a high-speed commercial airliner concept proposed by Boeing in 2001. The target cruise speed is Mach 0.95, close to the speed of sound, and is designed to shorten flight time. The design uses a unique forward-swept wing and tail design to reduce drag and improve efficiency. This model is expected to carry 200 to 250 passengers and is mainly targeted at long-haul routes. However, as fuel prices rose and airlines paid more attention to fuel efficiency, the development plan for the sonic cruiser was abandoned in 2002, and Boeing turned to the development of a more energy-efficient Boeing 787 Dreamliner to meet market demand for high efficiency.SC<em>2001</em>07b.jpeg
