Part of the history of the "Panzerkampfwagen Maus II Ausf.B:

After the use of two samples of the first Maus tanks in combat in May 1945 and further production of 11 more of the same type of tanks, the results of battles between the Soviet Union and Allied forces showed that the first Maus tanks were too overweight at 188 tons. The results of battles between super heavy tanks and tanks of Soviet and Allied forces showed that the first Maus tanks were too excessive at 188 tons, even with powerful engine at 1800 hp, excessive side armour, but not protecting against sub-caliber projectiles, and several other drawbacks.

In June 1945, the 6th Armament Department managed to prepare a number of changes and improvements to the tank that reduced its weight to 170 tons and greatly increased its mobility, together with even greater firepower, due to the introduction of a charging mechanism in the rear turret (Mausturm II type) that allowed the 128mm cannon to be reloaded without much human involvement. The 8-second reloading and the long-barreled 37mm automatic gun greatly enhanced the overall firepower of the tank against the combined Soviet and Allied armoured forces.

For example, during the battle for liberation of Koenigsberg one Panzerkampfwagen Maus II Ausf.B type tank managed to destroy in city combat 7 heavy tanks of (IS-2) type and one new heavy tank of the Soviet Union, which as documents showed was called (IS-3). Also the battle with active use of 37 mm long guns, capable of effectively destroying tanks like (T-34-85), (Sherman), (Cromwell) from the distance of up to 1000 meters with tungsten-cored sub-caliber shells was demonstrated.

@stevemc01 The E-100 used the Maus 2 Turm. There were problems with the Maus turret, so the Maus 2 turret was designed. The version the E-100 used had reduced armor on the side to keep weight down.

Turret looks more like the E100, but otherwise very well-made.

    Best Tank Master

When I carefully observe the tank, I am amazed at the precision of the details.

@parkrangerjerry Ahem. These turrets were called (Mausturm I) and (Mausturm II), and both turrets are not fixed as if the tank turret (E-100) should only be on (E-100), and the tank turret (Maus) only for the tank (Maus). No, according to the documentation, the (Mausturm II) turrets were to be fitted on the production tanks (Maus) and (E-100).

@BogdanX My variation of the tank (Maus) is not a Historical continuation, but semi-fictional, based on my imagination and theoretical elaboration of those or other assemblies and units, which could give such parameters, which I gave in the description of My tank (Maus 2).

    About speed.

The diesel engine of type (Daimler-Benz DB-605A4) with power in 2040 hp and torque in 3000 rpm, taking into account the new (made-up) transmission which has good gear ratio, allowed as well on my (and not only my) calculations, to accelerate tank to the maximal speed in 47 km/h, moreover, that here about 12 hp per ton.
