Le backstory
The US needed to make a torpedo bomber for selling in the lend-lease program and devised the TBL-1 Kraken. (TBL stands for Torpedo Bomber Light) It was mildly successful with the RAAF against Japanese forces and it was also used by the Royal Navy to sink U-boats in the North Atlantic. It was used as a trainer in the postwar period. It would be taken out of service in 1956.
