A Unique Sea Plane, for a Unique Purpose

history

First thought of in late 1943, the Kawasaki K-382 (US identification name Mack) was designed to be launched either out of the water or out of a catapult on shore batteries to quickly get torpedos flying at any enemy ships. The pontoons are on because for small islands they cant have a sutable runway so these catapult systems were in place to launch aircraft. On paper it seemed like it could work moderately well, but when employed the aircraft never got past the beach before they were shot down, only one was ever able to land a hit before the program was ultimately scrapped. The plane itself was used, however, in scout roles for the rest of the war, and was very fast for such a large aircraft, as its able to sustain almost 320mph at height.

Builders Note: so i tried me best on this one, and, well, it looks pretty ok, could definitely be better, but i like how it came out. I tried making the catapult like how it says in the history but i found out i have no idea how to make one, so this is all you got, sorry. But this is a really nice aircraft, and my favorite sea plane i have created. Enjoy!
