After the 'Baltic Incident', when a close formation of 3 Mk. II Mercury fighters crashed due to a pilot black-out during high g maneuvers, MAE was tasked with refining the design. With a wholly redesigned wing and a modified chassis, MAE had tamed the beast - the Mercury Mk. III was VTOL aviation perfected.

@AudioDud3 I'm not sure how she'll handle on mobile controls format. She's got a really sensitive rate of roll, so that could be problematic, but she can corner like she's on rails. Thanks for the spotlight and vote! Hope you enjoy flying her!
@AudioDud3 Yep. Ctrl group 8 to deactivate main thrusters. Drop vtol straight down for vertical takeoff. VTOL nozzles are defaulted to face backwards for a dogfight competition i'm having at the moment because the AI is dumb and won't point them backwards for extra thrust, but you can just reorient them to face down by default for regular use.
