The M224 guardian was first introduced to the world on april 21st 1999 and saw action for the firt time when serving the Kosovo Force (KFOR), created in june 10th 1999.
The project aimed at a modern replacement for the M113 and was developed by a joint program between european powers. It features NBC protection, a better engine, reaching speeds of 84 km/h, enhanced protection against small firearms, shrapnell and small caliber cannons.
It originally came with a top mounted 20mm automatic cannon, hitting targets precisely at a range of 3 kilometers.
