T-80U "1st Guards Tank Army", 2022
Welp, here's another build from me, cheers to that.
This is my submission for the block only challenge, i know it looks strange for a block build, but i can assure you no fuselage pieces are involved in the building process.
This is also coincidentally my 10k build, so there's that.
without further ado, I present you
T-80U "The Flying Tank"
The T-80 is a main battle tank (MBT) that was designed and manufactured in the former Soviet Union and manufactured in Russia and Ukraine.
The T-80 is based on the T-64, while incorporating features from the later T-72 and changing the engine to a gas turbine. When it entered service in 1976, it was the first production tank to be powered solely by turbine.
Armament
The turret houses the same 125 mm 2A46 smoothbore gun as the T-72, which can fire regular ordnance and anti-tank guided missiles.
The main gun is fed by the Korzina automatic loader. This holds up to 28 rounds of two-part ammunition in a carousel located under the turret floor.
Further ammunition is stored in the turret.
The ammunition comprises the projectile (APFSDS, HEAT, or HE-Frag), and the propellant charge, or the two-part missile.
The autoloader is an effective, reliable, combat tested system that has been in use since the mid-1960s.
The propellant charge is held inside a semi-combustible cartridge case made of a highly flammable material, which is consumed in the breech during firing, except for a small metal baseplate.
Features
This T-80U features several simplified features intended to appeal to mobile users and be usable for multiplayer gameplay.
Some of which are:
•Camera Aimed commander control (does not feature stabiliser)
•Casing ejection mechanism
•Smoke grenades
•Gas turbine engine whisper
•Secondary heavy machine gun
•Neutral steering
•Headlights (Controlled by AG1)
This particular unit is a semi-realistic replica of the T-80U used by the Russian Army's 1st Tank Army, stationed around Moscow Oblast.

For A Block Build, This Is Good Actually Tbh.
Javelin:
gud ebening
@FumoCirno How did you get 4 screenshots?
@Graingy yeah basically, structural panels register as
wing-2
in the XML menu@FumoCirno huh.
I suppose panels never got thickness controls, at least not in the normal menus?
Are panels just wings with a few changed XML settings (it’s XML, right?)
I wouldn’t know since nobody uses panels anymore lol
@Graingy well, i use both interchangably, i took my time to dedrag and disable the wing physics so i guess it's fair to say i used structural panels
@FumoCirno wings or structural panels?
@Graingy yep, i also panelled some areas using wings (such as the camouflage and the turret face Kontakt-5 ERA)
@FumoCirno Yeah, I figured as much. Basically made of rectangular prisms and a few other vaguely-rectangular things, no?
(I have not been able to download due to my crippling lack of time)
@Tom22 please refrain from leaving controversial comments, it might be offensive to some people.
.
this build is meant to be a semi-realistic replication of the actual tank used by the 1st Guards Tank Army of the Russian Army, any relation to real world events happening as per february 24th is completely trivial and unrelated to this build.
.
thank you and have a good day
@MobileBuilder21 thank you!
@Graingy it's mostly a trick on how to manipulate the block shapes using XML
.
i figured not using fuselage parts would mean i had to find parts that i can use as a substitute (in this case wheels as the snorkels, wood on the rear and the fume extractor on the cannon barrel)
.
all and all i think it turned out pretty well, so i hope you have a good experience playing with this tank :)
@Atrocitum @IceCraftGaming @MrCOPTY thank you for your kind words!
Excellent work

@SILVERPANZER вот черт, забыл на 2 поста разделить
