Tupolev ANT-25
History
One day in San Fransisco in the 1930's, people were stunned to see a strange looking aircraft with immensly long wings flying overhead. This unusual aircraft would later land just south of Los angeles and in doing so, would shatter a french flight distance record by over 1000 miles. The Tupolev ANT-25 was a Soviet long-range experimental aircraft which was also tried as a bomber. First constructed in 1933, it was used by the Soviet Union for a number of record-breaking flights and at one point was planned to be developed into a bomber. These several record breaking flights made the crewman of this unique aircrafts heros in the soviet union. This aircrafts insane endurace of 72 hours came as a result of a combination of several simple technologies. First and foremost were the wings. The wings had an aspect ration of almost 13:1. In addition the entirety of the fuel suppy was held in the wings. The ANT-25 also utilized a geared M-34 watercooled V12 engine putting out 750 horspower.
Controls
All normal controls. TRIM is elevator trim.
RECCOMEND USING MOUSE AIM OR JUST TRIM CONTROLS.
CG and CoL are rather close together so it is rather unstable.
I personally control the pitch with just the Trim slider.
Climb rate is very slow. pitch up at about 12-15 degrees for optimal angle.
Notes.
100% to scale. Probably one of my best (most accurate) to scale aircraft. Accurate performance too, speed, weight, and even climb rate!
