Background
In the year 1960, where President Soekarno chose to focus on the prosperity of the people and infrastructure development (instead of being preoccupied with marriages), and enforced an absolute death penalty for corrupt government officials/civil servants, the country's revenue increased drastically. SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) thrived, taxes were properly utilized, roads were improved, free meal programs were implemented, and there was even enough budget for the development of military assets across all branches.
One of the beneficiaries was the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), which had the opportunity to develop a locally manufactured twin-engine 4.5-generation fighter jet. The design and development were entrusted to PT Dirgantara and PT Pindad. Eventually, in 2020, the Elang Series was launched to replace the Kelelawar Series. The first generation was the PT-02 Helang Jawa, followed by the second generation, PT-02k1 Rajawali, and finally, the third generation, PT-02k2 Garuda. The Garuda variant was divided into three models:
PT-02k2 Garuda – Air Superiority
PT-02k2S – Strike Aircraft (also for export)
PT-02k2SE – Stealth
Battle History
In its first year, the Dadali successfully destroyed a Rohingya smuggling ship in Aceh waters (under the orders of President Jokowi).
In its second year, the Dadali successfully delivered a heart from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to a patient in the mountainous region of Papua within three hours, landing on a 500-meter runway.
