Background

JH-16 Dragon is a multirole aircraft developed by the Neorasian Army and Air Force in early 2021, with its maiden flight taking place in the summer of 2024. The JH-16 is operated by the Neorasian People's Army Air Service, Neorasian People's Army Navy, and Neorasian Air Force.

The JH-16 was first deployed in combat during the Battle of Tangshan, where 21 JH-16s from the Neorasian Air Force were used to bomb the city of Tangshan.

During the Siege of Hanako City, from February 2026 to mid-March 2029, a total of 283 JH-16s were shot down by Mizuharan forces—82 units by Mizuharan air defenses and 201 units in dogfights against the Mizuharan Air Force. One of the aircraft shot down was registration number 20 from the 2nd Naval Squadron of the Neorasian People's Army Navy, which operated from a Type-01 aircraft carrier. While conducting a bombing run, the aircraft was hit by an STA-02 Vission missile from the Mizuharan Air Force, disabling its flight control systems. Unfortunately, the aircraft veered toward Hanako City's Central Tower, ultimately crashing into it—making it the only aircraft to successfully inflict damage on the tower.

The JH-16 was also adapted for torpedo bomber operations, leveraging its speed and maneuverability. During the Battle of the Okinawa Sea, 42 JH-16s were used as torpedo bombers, successfully sinking 12 Mizuharan Navy ships. After the battle, three JH-16s launched a napalm bombing attack on the heavy cruiser MFS Nachi, which was returning to Shizukishima Port. Though all three aircraft were shot down, they managed to ignite a large fire on MFS Nachi’s deck. However, the fire was successfully extinguished upon the ship's arrival at Shizukishima Port.

During the Battle of Imperial Bay City, the remaining 20 JH-16s launched a final assault against the advancing Mizuharan forces, who were gaining control over the city. Despite being armed with only limited weaponry, they managed to destroy 52 Mizuharan Army armored vehicles and even sink the destroyer MFS Harusame. However, out of the 20 aircraft, 17 were shot down, while three were forced to make emergency landings due to fuel depletion.

After the civil war, it was confirmed that a total of 3,283 JH-16 Dragons were produced by Neorasia. Of these, 3,180 were shot down, 100 were captured by Mizuharan forces, and three were declared missing. The JH-16 Dragon was later continued in production by Shadow Heavy Industry as part of the Eclipse Witch Program.
