The X-15 was an experimental aircraft that reached speeds over mach 6 and altitudes near the edge of space- 380,000 feet- designed and flown by NASA in the 1960's. It is the fastest manned aircraft to this day. FUN FACT: Neil Armstrong was one of the test pilots who flew this craft. Throttle to 100%, press one immediately, pull up to 30-60 degrees, and hold on to your pants! THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE. NASA LOGO BY THEALBAN
