SMCG ODP-101 Stratodart

40.2k Typhoon03  4.7 years ago

This is a long-range air defence system developed from the HSV-25S Javelin infantry support vehicle. It uses eight Cleavers, each capable of engaging a target up to 55 miles away. They are highly resistant to jamming and can hit manoeuvring targets reliably. The system was originally designed to destroy satellites in low-earth-orbit.

The vehicle has a crew of three, all seated in the main cabin. The driver-mech sits on the right-hand side with the loader/engineer seated alongside him. Behind them and facing sideways, the WSO has complete targeting control of the missile system through a touch-screen positioned alongside his seat. He controls the arming of the system using the panel situated on his right and also has the ability to fire flares and smoke to conceal the vehicle's position.

The three-man cabin is well-armoured against small arms and can resist against blasts from rocket propelled grenades and light anti-tank missiles thanks to the ceramic armour plate which surrounds much of the crew compartment. The external access door to the missile magazine is designed to blow off, dissipating a blast if the missiles detonate. Every window is filled with 35mm of bulletproof glass and is heavily barred for extra strength and resistance to explosions. The vehicle's seats each have 65mm of armour plate to guard against shrapnel.

The fuel tank is self-sealing and protected by Chobham armour that runs the length of the gun platform, also guarding the rear wheels and hydraulics. The engine compartment is resistant to munitions up to the size of a light anti-tank missile. A spare tire is also carried alongside the fuel tank and the engine produces enough horsepower to propel the Stratodart to 90 mph on the road.

Instructions:
AG1 activates six-wheel steering for high-speed control, highly recommended over two-wheel control.
GEAR opens the doors.
PITCH and ROLL for movement.
Credit to GeneralOliverVonBismarck for the original truck.

I believe I said earlier, this is a complementary system, we are keeping the SM-5 in service.

Saltwater controls the Northern Oilfields, we have a fair amount of money as well.

The VLS system is still superior to the rotating launcher.

We are keeping the SM-5, but this is a complementary system.

VLS is superior to your system. Also, we use the Spotter as a seperate radar system. Also, I said they were modified cruise missiles because they are based off the Cleaver. If you test it you will find that they are actually almost as fast as the stock air-to-air missiles and more manoeuvrable.

The Stratodart is more compact, has twice the missile capacity, is better off-road, has equal radar systems and is far cheaper to maintain.
