YAK-28 "Brewer" (1st replica build)

573 SVT13  7.2 years ago

The Brewer was the medium bomber variant of the multi role Yak-28 airframe, the also served as a heavy interceptor and tactical reconnaissance aircraft. Its high speed, accurate (for the time) radar bombsight, and ability to carry nuclear weapons, made it a major threat to NATO.
It is depicted in early Soviet bare metal finish.

Much like the real thing, this plane is somewhat unforgiving during takeoff and landing. This is mostly caused by the main landing gear position and the upward angle it sits at while at rest.
During take off, pull up as soon as the rear landing gear lifts off, if you don't it will start wobbling, the wing tip gear "see-sawing" which tends to lead to disintagration. For landing, make sure the rear gear touches down first.
This is my first attempt at a replica, so advice is welcome.

AG1 for the drag chute.
