UPDATE EXPECTED: NOV2021
Completed Upgrades: Major cockpit overhaul, Minor FT tweaks, fixed roll issue completely, Detailing, ready for release, but will be probably towards the end of November, after the Krait and Light Shuttle.

Controls
Read All Notes, Still an unconventional Flight System

  • AG1: Main Flight Engine
  • AG2: VTOL/Hover Engine
  • AG3: Activate Weapons
  • AG8: Disable RCN system (The little nozzle thing no one uses in builds)
  • VTOL: If craft tends to roll, use the VTOL slider (usually at 75% down depending on device), to counter it.

Note 1: This vehicle is a VTOL landing and Takeoff only. You must first go into a HOVER (AG2) at least 80% power in order to takeoff, and switch to FLIGHT mode (AG1) to fly forward. To land use Hover (AG2) at anything below 75% power. Remember to turn off AG2 once you are in FLIGHT mode (AG1).

Note 2: This vehicle does not use control surfaces to fly, you must have AG8 active, or some power to the engines in order to control Pitch, Yaw, and Roll, the flaps are for show. At below 500 knots, you can enter a post stall, and it is recommended to use 30% to 50% power to control the craft in a post stall.

Note 3: Mobile Friendly Yes, I kept XML modding to a minimum, so no, your device will not need to think very hard to make this thing fly. Just a heads up, the landing gear may hop a bit on high physics settings. Overall, this craft was built to run on my phone and it works pretty well.

Description
Type: Ship Launched Fighter
Crew: 1 Pilot
Weapons: 20 mm Multi-cannon V2, 7 Guardians

Manufacturer: Avenel Flight

Overview:
The Pulsar is a simple and basic space fighter, with an emphasis on cramming as much as possible into a very small, sleek chassis. Utilizing a standard 2x5 missile bay, and an upgraded multi-cannon module it is the very straight forward layout found on many Avenel fighters.

The chrome finish, and accent lighting makes this fighter very enjoyable to look at, as well as emphasizes the unique style of Avenel design. Where many pilots might struggle is mastering the hover system, especially those who are used to conventional landing, and relying on vectorizing thrust as opposed to moving wing surfaces to control the craft. The Alpha model uses a RCN system that allows a skilled pilot to pivot in a post stall, and make sharper turns.

Overall, the Pulsar is a proof of concept, kind of like an F-117 from the early age of stealth fighters, but ideas learned from this craft are already being implemented on other fighter designs.

Builders Notes

First thing I want people to know is part of the design is paint, as in you can dramatically change the look of this fighter by changing some paint options. I got tired of typical fighter jets, and wanted something that is truly unique as a build, but also can be made more unique to its pilot. So please, change the paint to how you wish, as you can see in the thumbnails I change it on every flight.

Compared to the drones I've built that don't use control surfaces with an RCN system, they we're so bad I couldn't post them. So the little Pulsar is a stepping stone to much more radical designs since wings don't really limit my designs. I added a counter roll system, updated the drag model, as well as some other fine tuning, but really at this point it is a proof of concept, that I don't need to use flaps to build a fighter jet. With some cooler and much sleeker fighters in the works, this little Cessna sized delta wing will always be my fun little space ship. I don't see too many updates in the future with this thing, but expect builds more in this style. If your an Elite Dangerous player than you kind of already know what to expect.

So I found out for some reason the landing gear causes it to roll. Not sure why, but if it's a nuisance just remove the landing gear, the original design can actually land just fine without it. I may make a version that uses a different gear set, but at this point I'm working on other projects. This is more of a test bed for a flapless design.
