The AC-130, a capable Gunship, is a very old plane. For the Wright Air Force, it got difficult to acquire spare parts and it became increasingly expensive. The Engineers at SP Aircraft Development developed this gunship to be cheap, simple but at the same time effective. The Armament for the SP-36 consists of 12 ATGMs, 10 250 lbs. Bombs, a 100mm Cannon with 40 rounds, a 40mm Autocannon, a 30mm Minigun and a 300mm Bomb chute. The Bomb chute was chosen after some tests against various vehicles, where it was the most crew-friendly out of all the tested weapons. The Aircraft’s cockpit is in an elevated position compared to the flight deck and features an unusual ejection system where the entire nose section is separated from the rest of the gunship. It’s combat effectiveness is to be determined in real conflicts, but in testing phase this plane showed great anti-armor and anti-building capabilities.
