Brief History
The SlingShot is a small air defense system, designed to protect vital targets. Although its range is 50 km, it can successfully repel aircraft attacks at supersonic speed. The system can launch 3 missiles almost simultaneously at targets within a radius of 360 degrees. This is possible for satellite communication, which provides the position, displacement vector, speed and altitude of the possible targets. The system is especially effective when it comes to defending a saturation attack. When a missile knocks down a target, the rest can be guided to destroy more targets. Despite its advantages, the missile is guided by heat in the final phase of tracking, so an experienced pilot could evade with flares. However, pilots tend to avoid a direct confrontation with this system.
