DESCRIPTION

Filling in the role of a Modern destroyer , the Aquarius is a class of General Purpose Guided missile Destroyers, primarily focused on the Anti-Air and Anti surface role.

Designated as Guided missile Destroyers they are set to be in operation as modern 21st century Destroyers for the Navy. They are well equipped in both sensors and Armaments to hold their own in the modern combat environment.

Powered by a combined Diesel-Electric and gas (CODLAG) Powerplant driving it to 54km/h, the Aquarius provides a economical cruise speed and decent Maneuverability in all weathers. It's stern host aviation facilities for up to 2 ASW helicopters and 2 side hangers for RHIB deployment.

Sensors include the main Herakles PESA AIR/SURFACE search radar, 2 fire control systems, 2 navigation radars and a hull mounted Sonar for limited anti-submarine capabilities along with an array of communication antennas for modern digital data link.

ARMAMENTS

Fitted onto the Aquarius are a whole host of weapon systems. The main firepower comes in its 64 VLS cells located at the bow, capable of launching a mix of Anti surface cruise missiles and Long range Anti air missiles.
12 Antiship missiles are located amidships in 2 6 cell box launchers with its main guns consisting of a single 127mm BREDA cannon housed in a stealth housing in the bow, followed by a single 57mm SAK autocannon located above the hanger for dual purpose engagement. Both weapons capable of firing 3P smart munitions.

Defensive armaments include 16 short range AA missiles in 2 8 cell launchers beside the hangers, and 2 dual purpose CIWS located on both sides of the front superstructure.
