A.5b Chaffinch
A Observation/Light Attack Jet, The A.5b uses its impressive STOL ability and light and rugged construction to operate out of pretty much anywhere. It can loiter over the battlefield for an impressive amount of time and use its variety of weaponry to great effect, making for a potent COIN and CAS platform.
The main selling point of the Chaffinch is its STOL system. It allows the Chaffinch to tilt the wings and engines, giving a big boost to the lift. The "b" modification adds a number of armament improvement to the A.5, adding compatibility with Air to Air missiles, countermeasure pods, 30mm autocannon and a ballistic computer on top of its preexisting 1500lb payload capacity.
This is my fun little entry, vaguely based off the A-10 and the F-8. It's a bit squirrely to land but comfortably "STOL" imo. Should be VR compatible
I'm pretty happy with how this came out, especially its wierd little cockpit
