RDIT Icon series 519 & announcement:
Preface: As you know, i have changed my name and PFP and promptly gained two followers. Well now I am changing my main brand from Kelley to RDIT (yes i know what it sounds like but it stands for Red Design Internation Technologies). So, because i DM sometimes, here is some lore~
The Irish-American defense contractor/ car company Kelley was bought out by RDIT, an American supercompany. In the contract, it was said that Kelley had to donate research and the like and change their name. In return, RDIT would let them continue with their slightly fringe airplane design and give them a garbage truck of money (around $17.4B). Now, normally one does not simply buy a defend contractor, but the head of Kelley’s aerospace division (not me) had spent so much money on Isocondinium (a fictional element like cordium but really, really stable (also has potential to be unstable)) and trying to make it unstable that he… well… yeah… they got into some trouble…
Anyway, after about two months of being under new rule, a scientist running a deep-freeze test had to refill his lucky lighter. So, he was in there… look don’t shoot the messenger! But it sparked this line:
Nonono OSHA don’t send me to Brazil! He violated safety codes and whatnot! It won’t happen again!
So then, after he had unscrewed the cap… he dropped the lighter fluid on the super chilled block of Iso. and it started smoking and changing…
So, one month later, mr scientist now makes 70k/yr and we have a new thing:
Isopetroliocondiflamcondensate.
So we set it on fire.
And it made a explosion that was [REDACTED———]
So we put in in a jet engine we called the 519, and we got this:
(Note: supposed to be a smooth transition but whoo that’s a long preface.)
The RDIT ICON 519.
This engine is really fuckin powerful. Over 174 THOUSAND LBF. That’s 2 entire heavy fighter’s power… in this. Like… what?
Anyway, a downside is it’s not cheap. You think jet fuel is expensive? This shit is at $19 per… gallon? It’s more of a gel than liquid…
It’s also not fuel efficient (see test rig)
and it may or may not be super mantinence intensive. However, it has less CO2 emissions than regular Jets (measured over time) and yeah.
So: to use as subassembly, grab main fuselage.
Credit enjoyed but not required.
