Excelsior Class Heavy Cruiser
With over 100 years of active service, and hundreds of the class active at any given time, the Excelsior Class Heavy Cruiser was by far the most successful Starfleet design to ever fly. Initially nicknamed The Great Experiment, The NX-2000 was designed as a prototype for transwarp drive. However the drive malfunctioned, leaving the vessel immobilized and The Great Experiment a failure. Despite this failure, the Excelsior Class was far more versatile than previous starfleet classes, and would be assigned to anything from sector mapping, resupply, to first contact missions. The weapons loadout also put Adamant and Proxima Class starships to shame, which led to their decommissioning. During the Dominion War, one heavily refit Excelsior Class ship, the USS Lakota, managed to match and even exceed the firepower of a Defiant Class starship.

Could you possibly make the Enterprise D? There isn’t one built to this amazing detail!
@SpartanSR91 Hello spartan long time no see, how are you?
The port nacelle flickers when you go to warp but otherwise perfect
Wow this is sick man
the saucer is kinda weird
Gotta start taking screenshots from MP and putting them in the post. Having a screenshot from when this was escorting the A321 would’ve been so good.
Looks great though, love the little details
@TheFlightGuySP Thanks
I'd be surprised if this doesn't win the challenge. This is an amazing build.
