The M4A2 Improved Carbine System is a variant of the Paternian M4 carbine, and the issue rifle of the Paternian Armed Forces. An improvement over the M4A1 through the use of advanced polymers, it remains quite similar externally. In comparison to Unity Contractor Carbines, they feature standard-length RIS sytems, gas block with bayonet lug and front sight, standard CAR-15-style telescoping stock, Colt-pattern 30-round STANAG magazines, and M16A2-style flash hider, which can function as a 22mm rifle grenade launcher. This particular rifle is fitted with a Y-Tech polymer foregrip, 4x power ACOG, backup rear iron sight (folded), and the AN/PEG-16 laser sight.
