Gimballed camera for Freerider2142

44.9k DerekSP  6.6 years ago

Pre-sidenote:
For the ones of you who have no idea what this; its a camera on a stick and two hinges which make it very stable when in-flight, so if you want to test it, you'll have to save it as a subassembly and put it on your plane/drone.

I've noticed you said that you'd like to have a gimballed camera on the Orca while filming, so I dared to make one. It¨'s pretty stable and manages to neutralize all axis(es?) except Yaw, of course.

Sidenotes:
You can make the root "cone" part shorter if you need.
You can also try to decrease the hinge range from 90 to something else, maybe if you need to rotate the camera up and down

Thanks for that, that made my day!!!
I had a few crashes getting used to it because of the camera position and how the Orca fly..
but eventually I made another one that fit the Orca flight a little better.

    and again Cheers for this!

@TimeTraveler you put it on your plane (on the underside, preferably) and if you switch to Camera 1 you will have a stabilized view with little to no pitch and roll visible. Works great with drones, but will glitch out if you do a barrel roll or something crazy like that
