Hey everyone. Zerø here from simpleplanes.com. And in this SimplePlanes post, I introduce to you: The Frogfoot.

Back at it again at another simple build, however this time, it's an attack aircraft.

Also, this was an entry for Yourlocalhuman's War Challenge II. I hope it could enter... I'm sorry if I broke a rule, by the way.

Introduction:

The Sukhoi Su-25K Frogfoot, or Grach is a Soviet built attack aircraft, commonly compared against the A-10. The Frogfoot can do many things at once, including CAS, SEAD, and Anti-Ship. This variant of the Komercheskiy (Commercial) however has been modified by the Krakabloans to be able to support the armaments they had in their arsenals. These included the changes from the GSh-23 to the GAU-8, and the ability to carry non-russian missiles.

History:

In the early 1968, the Soviets found the need of a certain Sturmovik to support their ground forces. Their current aircraft meanwhile, lacked the ability to provide Close Air Support for the army. In March 1969, the Soviet Air Force announced a competition for a new battlefield close-support aircraft. The following competitors are Sukhoi, Yakovlev, Ilyushin, and Mikoyan. Sukhoi finalised it's design "T-8" in late 1968, and began the work in January 1972. The Su-25 won't have it's first flight until 22nd of February 1975. After a long test flight, the Su-25 surpassed it's competitor on the competition, Ilyushin Il-102 and series of production was announced by the Ministry of Defence.

During the Wright-Snowstone war, the Krakabloan military sought to help by deploying their Su-25Ks and providing air support for the Wrightian, and Krakabloan army. However, they don't have the necessary parts for the damaged and everly decreasing munitions. So to counteract, the Krakabloans modified multiple Su-25Ks to be able to support their arsenal. Majority of the pylons is now equipped with the ability to use Wrightian munitions and their current weaponry.

Update on the Wright-Snowstone War, affecting the modified Su-25Ks:

1: Occupation of Krakabloa.
Krakabloa was invaded, and occupied by Snowstone. The Su-25Ks have been captured and used by the Snowstone forces. Luckily, 3 Su-25Ks was sent to Wright to have the work split between the two, and modify the Su-25Ks.

1.1: Modification #1.
A single Su-25K has been able to be modified to carry Wrightian munitions.

1.2: Modification #2.
The second Su-25K has been able to be modified to carry Wrightian munitions.

1.3: Modification #3.
The third Su-25K has been able to be modified to carry Wrightian Munitions. However, it'll need more time, due to some faulty in the launch mechanism, not being able to launch certain weapons.

2: Loadout Updates.
During the testing of the first prototype, the aircraft continued to be matched with other munitions. As a result, something happened.

2.1: Anti-Ship Loadout.
Great news! The new TBK-22s and AGM-121s has been able to be installed on the Su-25Ks! However, there is still only 4 pylons that would support both munitions...

3: Operation Sanburn.
Snowstone has launched an attack against the Wrightian Navy. The operation's objective is simple. Defend the fleet in a true F-14 style, but not with F-14s.

3.1: First Strike
The first strike of the attack on the fleet is launched by the Snowstone, and a WRS Destroyer has been sunk by a captured Krakabloan Su-25K. Damn those bastards.

3.2: Result of the Operation.
Operation Sanburn has been successfully done, and in return gave us the resources to research glide bombs and ARMs. As of now, the new weaponry is being tested on the newly modified Su-25K.

4: Operation Krakabloa.
As you might now, Krakabloa has been invaded and occupied. However, Wrightian forces have deployed everything they had and tried to liberate Krakabloa. Currently 40% of Krakabloa has been liberated from the Snowstone forces.

4.1: What's currently happening.
As much as 6 MiG-23MFs, and 8 Su-25Ks are left behind to be claimed back by Wrightian and liberated Krakabloan forces. These crafts have not yet been modified though, and they'll most likely will be modified to strengthen our forces.

Controls & Features:

Controls:
  • VTOL: Flaps

Yep, that's it.

Features:

Nothing, really. Not even airbrakes, this thing is already alow enough.

Gallery:

No galleries for today, boys. Sorry, I was too lazy.

This aircraft has an issue that always popped ever since I tried to enter this challenge. It will veer alot on takeoff, so it requires constant attention to rudder. Do not overruder. Same thing is also true with the roll when airborne.

That was all. Enjoy, and fly safe!
