Derecho Mk.XIb (Late)

Meet a Derecho!

Named after a storm we had in 2021... eh it's British.

If people start calling it "yanderecho," I'm going to throw myself into therapy.

So, anyways, after spending an entire weekend drawing blueprints and converting them into SP, I ended up with this beauty.

Maybe a bit strange-looking, and a tad awkward, but I love it. And, it performs quite well too.

In truth, its armament isn't particularly impressive at first, having two 20mm cannons and four 7.7mm machine guns, a similar loadout to that of some Spitfires. However, the Derecho does give you the benefit of nose-mounted machine guns, which are quite accurate in comparison to the wing guns.

The Derecho is also very fast, and considerably agile of an opponent. Don't think about it, just fly. You might like it.

Fairly detailed, has a nice interior (sorta). Also gifts you with toggleable lights which can be activated/deactivated by pressing Activation Group 8. Also worth noting it's a bit unstable on take-off, so don't be afraid to use Yaw to keep your center.

Fun Fact

The Derecho, built for WWII, arrived too late to see much combat, only completing a total of eight missions with just two losses (one in an accident, another by AAA). However, it would see a lot of use in sparring missions later on, everything from ground strikes to escort missions.

Mock-escorting a B-29 back to America.

That's pretty much all you'll need,

Enjoy and have fun!
