RamboJutter Avenger F.B 11 2.8
Introduction
The Avenger came from the Fleet Air Arms need for a small, manoeverable fighter aircraft that wasnt just an airframe adapted for naval use. This aircraft has an intentionally small wing span to avoid the complications and weight impairments of requiring folding wings for storage, the twin fin also reduce its vertical height and allow for a large horizontal area and thus increased stability in this area (the issue of yaw on takeoff was what lead to conter-rotating propellors being used on some aircraft).
Powered by a Rolls Royce Merlin engine the Avenger was capable of around 300knts at sea level which was comparable to other aircraft of the era.
However it also encompassed one of the common issues of this era of carrier aircraft, a tail dragger... This increases the chance of prop strikes on landing so extra care has to be taken not to bend those props.

Oh Wow! This is really cool! @RamboJutter
He be a little boi. Fast and dangerous to.
Quicker than a fart and strikes quicker than a shark on caffeine.
@Hedero Im glad to hear it (or technically read it), what do you reckon, bit of mig 3, bit bit 24, bit p40 all rolled into 1?
@NAD Thanks, stay tuned for more "Whifs" I think i have turned into the Whif factory at present, I shall stear clear of pesky replicas for a while.
@Tang0five Dont tell anyone, but the fins are pure B24 Liberator, i even made them in a very similar way to the real one (I have a cutout type drawing of it)... =) The camo was a mix of the standard FAA sea fury scheme (grey and duckegg for want of a better term) but i added it as a camo pattern as well just to be different. Thanks again for the comments and upvotes, glad im still building things people enjoy after all these years lol
I love it!
Another fine "Whif" done :) i never get tired of those, great job!
Lovely stuff, tail reminds me of the Bristol Brigand. Like the camo, is that from RL or is that RJ industries paint scheme? Funky trees on the prop works nicely as well - I’m trying to work out what it means.....
