MBT-70
Finally an upload after centuries of doing nothing! Just a little something I've had in store for a while which got me into building more tanks, so expect more to come in the future! Now, along the most proper introduction after months of nothingness, I give you, the MBT-70!
A joint design project of The US of A and West germany, incorporating many high tech equipment at its time which meant a heck ton of money being spent on the design.
It had a retractable 20mm cannon on the roof, a hydropneumatic system, state of the art (at its time) gun launcher, which allowed it to launch high caliber projectile and ATGM, it also used a Television Gunsight which paved way to be used on modern MBT's of this day.
Extra features include full functioning stabilizer system, meaning if you are on the move, going over small obstacles, and turning your tank, the turret will stay in place and keep looking at where you are aiming at.
With this system, you also have UNLIMITED traverse angle, meaning you can rotate the turret in circles for as long as you'd like without having it return to its original position and getting stuck at its maximum rotation angle.
below are the instructions on how to operate the tank ;
- AG 1 : activate commanders vertical panoramic sight movement and unlocks the 20mm gun lock.
- AG 1 + Landing gear : activates the 20mm, and bringing the gun to the front.
- AG 2 : activates 20mm and panoramic sight horizontal movement.
- AG 3 + Landing gear : activates commanders infrared sight.
- AG 4 : arms rocket, imitating APFSDS. (engage ground mode)
- AG 5 : turns on headlights
- AG 6 + trim : engage hydropneumatic suspension on the half end of the tracks (off = only front moves, on = all the track moves)
- AG 7 + Throttle : raises gun lock (how to use below)
- AG 8 : deactivates stabilizer and co-axial MG.
- Brake for brake lights
- Reverse turns on reverse lights as well, a small neat touch i think.
- Flare button for flares to imitate smoke launchers
Instructions :
How to aim : self explanatory, use mouse aim to aim easily, but because of the stabilizer system, mobile users will have an easier time aiming horizontally as well. AG4 activates main armament, which are rockets, it has a limited ammount of shot so pick targets carefully.
Hydropneumatic suspension :
Useful to use at rough terrain and concealling your tanks sillhouette, Use trim to move the tank up and down using only the front half of the tracks, activate AG 6 to move the suspension wholely on the vertical axis.
Locking the gun :
Move to a flat terrain, make sure you are not moving, and the gun is perfectly positioned on the front (line the gunsight with a stationary green line via Camera 2).
activate AG 7 + throttle, deactivate stabilizer (AG 8) and then deactivate AG 7.
(visible on the third picture of the tank)
This is by far my most complicated design yet so appologies for the high part count and long description. I hope you all enjoyed this sophisticated design, and feel free to take any parts off of it, and reverse engineer anything you can strap off off of it (yo dawg).
Cheers people!

This is an AMAZING TANK! One of only two that I have seen that actually use ARMOR via XMLd Fueselage Blocks. Sights are a great touch as well. I fully did not expect the 20mm to work. I was very pleasantly surprised. Note: Only Drive this with Physics settings at maximum.
No see long time sadly
Where have u been mah boi @ChaMikey
Can you create the Horten 229’s big brother?
@ChaMikey still waiting for dem other tonks... ;)
@AtomicCashew @Andrew1 The M1 is still dusting off in the hangar :( I'm still thinking if I should resize it smaller or if its alright the way it is, so I'm sorry for the wait and hopefully I can get it out in a week maximum!
@ChaMikey Hey man you know when your profile the picture yeah where do you get that tank if so can you give me the link please I think it really looks cool and I can do a project maybe you could get first Debs on it if I send you the link
What ever happened to the M1?
@ChaMikey meow
@ChaMikey no problem.
@Valiant2017 thanks man :)
@CCCP Spasiva comrde! ))))
@PorkyClown3 @Alix451 thanks dudes! appreciate it :)
@Dllama4 my thanks to you, great llama!
@Pianoman @Pilotmario thanks alot guys ))))
@ElgatoVolador thank you o' wise cat!
@DestinyAviation @ShatSlanger @Mostly @Baldeagle086 @AstleyIndustries @ColonelStriker much appreciated guys!
@Serkonda @ThomasRoderick @Thespiritusraptorfan @Jettstorm @yoshicraze @greasytortle thank you guys!!
@AtomicCashew Thank you very much for the comment! and glad to know that it didnt blew your pc lol, and yes, in fact, if you direct your attention to my profile picture, she is all set and well, I just need to see if its buggy or if there are anything I might need to adjust, plus its 100 less parts than the MBT!
@JAPANAIR1 thank you!
@MethaManAircraft in a nutshell, yepp
Very nice idea
This is possibly one of the best tanks I've seen in the game. You did a good job on the functions and looks while keeping my PC surviving. Possibly try making an M1 Abrams?
@ChaMikey AAAAAAH! So if I understand, the trick is to add an extra gyro to keep the turret still... ?
