AT-76U is a light amphibious tank in service of the Union forces which saw action as one of the spearhead in Teranivo Isles War along with other armored elements of the Union.

INTRODUCTION

Several years before the war, a private military company originating from Zanitsva named Viktor-Gorshkov Armaments offered the Union an upgrade project on the Union's AT-76 that entered service almost two decades ago, in which the Union promptly accepted. After two years of work, the upgraded variant of the Union's AT-76 is completed and ready for mass production. And thus is the birth of AT-76U.

The AT-76U boasted several major improvement compared to the original AT-76. First is the stronger engine. While it makes not much difference in terms of speed, the new engine made the AT-76U capable of carrying more weights while retaining the same mobility. The improved turret made a drastic change on survivability as the carousel ammo rack design is replaced with a safer bustle ammo storage, which in return increased the survivability of the tank and also increased the number of rounds the tank can carry. The new turret also grants more ergonomics and crew comfort as it is less cramped than the original design, and as such allowing the fire rate to go up to a staggering 12 RPM (5 seconds reload). The stabilized gun allows a drastic improvement on combat effectiveness when shooting in movement, particularly swimming and landing in a harsh sea condition. And finally, the night vision equipment. The NV allowed AT-76U tankers to conduct night assault on enemy position and as such, may allow them to catch the enemy off-guard.

The AT-76U saw action in Teranivo Isles War with other amphibious units such as the BG-112A. At the earlier days of the war, the Union has only conducted mostly daytime attacks. But with the presence of night vision equipment on-board the AT-76U, the Union forces command may consider night attacks to flank and catch their Omenian enemy off guard.
